Challow Ladies Netball Club was established in 1978 by a group of local ladies with an enthusiasm for the game. Over the years the club has grown and developed and has recently achieved England Netball's Bronze CAPS award recognising the club as an accredited England Netball club. Due to lack of local and affordable indoor facilities we are currently based at Wantage Leisure Centre for training and matches using outdoor facilities. We remain vigilant looking for an affordable and local indoor or covered facility.
From September to March/April training for all members takes place on Wednesday evenings between 7:00 pm. and 8:30 pm. All sessions are planned and run by England Netball qualified coaches. The session begins with warm up techniques, followed swiftly by the introduction of movement skills, ball skills, set play routines and finally a full-scale match. The club also has a number of qualified England Netball umpires, which adds discipline, control and expertise to our practice games.
In April/May, June and July the club presently convenes again outdoors on a Wednesday evening at Challow Recreation Ground. Times may vary according to the light available, but generally commences at 7:00 pm for about 1½ hours, see News page for latest information.
